Dr. Fei Liu at the Computer Science Division of University of Central Florida (Orlando, Florida) is looking for PhD students (with financial aid) who are interested in studying natural language processing and machine learning.How to Apply
Students with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, and related disciplines are encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates will have good programming skills (e.g., Java/Python/C++/Matlab), be enthusiastic about NLP research and committed to pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science. Prior experience with natural language processing and machine learning courses on coursera is a plus. The candidates will work with Dr. Liu to conduct state-of-the-art research on automatic summarization, language understanding, social media, NLP applications and publish the research results in leading conferences and journals.

About Dr. Fei Liu
Fei Liu is an assistant professor of Computer Science at University of Central Florida. Fei’s research areas are in natural language processing, machine learning, and data mining, with special emphasis on automatic summarization and social media. From 2013 to 2015, Fei was a postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, member of Noah's ARK. From 2011 to 2013, she worked as a senior research scientist at Bosch Research, Palo Alto, California, one of the largest German companies providing intelligent car systems and home appliances. Fei received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2011. Prior to that, she obtained her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science from Fudan University, Shanghai, China. Fei has published over twenty peer reviewed articles, and she serves as a referee for leading journals and conferences.
