The Intelligent Autonomous Systems Lab (http://ualr.edu/cxye/laboratory.htm)
of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock has threePh.D. student openings for Spring/Fall 2016. The successful candidates will:(1) develop vision based navigation methods for a robotic navigation aid and aWearable Object Manipulation Aid (W-ROMA) for the visually impaired; (2)develop vision-based human motion detection and analysis methods for aquadrupedal human-assistive robotic platform; and (3) prototype the W-ROMA.
The projects will use 3D time-of-flight cameras and RGB-Dcameras for perception. The research topics include:
    - 6 DOFSimultaneous Localization of Mapping
    -3D ObjectRecognition
    - Human LowerLimbs Detection and Motion Analysis
    - Human-RobotInteraction
General guideline of admission to graduate study isreferred to http://ualr.edu/enss/. The labcurrently hosts research projects funded by the National Institutes of Healthand NASA. The funded research currently supports one postdoc and six Ph.D.students.
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is a dynamicmetropolitan university locating at the state’s capital city, Little Rock (http://www.littlerock.com).
