We are contacting you because you haveopened an application to the Information Networking Institute (INI) for fall2017 entry and you selected a 16-month duration. The purpose of thiscommunication is to notify you of a modification that has recently beenimplemented in the INI programs and will affect the duration opt
ion. The INI isenrolling all students in the 20-month option going forward, beginning withstudents enrolling in fall 2017. The INI programs are 144 units and ourprograms are traditionally completed over the course of two academic years.While students may accelerate this schedule, you should expect to be registeredin the INI program for four semesters--completing your degree by the 2ndspring.
Also, now all incoming students will berequired to successfully complete an INI-approved summer internship. Note thatthe INI offers in-house career services to assist in finding a suitableinternship. An internship is considered as work relevant to the studentsprogram of study that is paid or unpaid and may be performed at the following:an off-campus company anywhere in U.S., a company in another country, oron-campus (e.g. as a research assistant). It may be possible for some students tocomplete the program in 16 months. We are no longer requiring students todeclare this intention in advance. This provides flexibility if you attempt tocomplete the program in 16 months, but need to use the fourth semester. Notethat INI programs are full time, and students are required to take a full-timecourse load each semester they are enrolled.
