The way that financial responsibility is calculated with a 50% tuition scholarship  is slightly different for SEVIS purposes. 18 credits are used to calculate the tuition cost so the breakdown looks like this:

50% tuition for 18 Credits at $1249 per credit hour is  $11,241 + 31,515 = $42,756 which is the total financial responsibility cost for SEVIS purposes including tuition, fees, and expected cost of living. Your actual costs will vary.

Your funding document must show at least $31,515 for full admission and the issuance of the I-20.
