Well, for some reason apple decided to disabled my account. I can’t use the $200 dollars remaining balance. My iCloud plus has been canceled. I was on the phone immediately the night for one hour with the customer service and they told me that I am banned because I must violate seriously their term and conditions (they don’t know which one) there is nothing they can’t do and sounds like a arrogant monopoly.
I called them the next day. After two hours on the phone with a sympathetic lady. She tired to figure out why I got disabled. In the process I have to provide lots of information to go through the scrutiny, like why I switched countries and why I have a refund and my wife’s account in the family sharing and all my burner accounts. Then I finally got directed to the right place. It is not the fraud detection department. It turns out to be the post sales support team and the guys told me I am disabled because one of my transactions is suspicious (again they don’t know the details hmm…). The point is he can request my account been reenabled! It takes less than 24 hours. OK fine by me! I waited another day nothing happens. Luckily after 24 hours I got called back by that lady and she told me my account has been reenabled.
Summary: if you have the same problem just call for the post sales support department asking to enable your account and ask for a call back after 24 hours.
Apple is reserving the right to disable your account and not give any appeal chance. It is ridiculous and dangerous. Just don’t put too much money in the account and try not buy apple gift card. Data independent seems much important in the cloud technology era. |
