Position description

• Multiple Ph.D. positions starting in Fall 2025 in Industrial Engineering (IE) at the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence (SCAI) from Arizona State University (ASU).
• The successful candidates will receive full financial support to pursue research in the areas of Machine Learning and Statistical Modeling.
• The position comes with a full-doctoral level stipend and a tuition scholarship. Qualified students may also be considered for a Fellowship.
• Students from all science or engineering majors, especially Statistics, Math, EE, CS, and IE are encouraged to apply.
  

Research interests
Machine learning & Statistical Learning with applications in complex healthcare and engineering systems:

• Statistical machine learning (sparse learning, transfer learning, unsupervised learning)
• Data fusion (high-dimensional, multi-modal, multi-level, heterogeneous data)
• Precision medicine (facilitate disease diagnosis, prognosis, monitoring)
• Population health (mitigate health disparities, improve care delivery, promote public health)
