我之前有听唐人街出身的移民学者讲以前的歧视，对华人他们看种族，不看你哪里来的，东南亚华人一样被迫限制活在chinatown，只能干洗衣做饭。那时候还没什么新中国和所谓的中国共产党。
The Chinese Head Tax in Canadian history was a racist immigration policy that specifically targeted people of Chinese descent, and did not apply to other Asians, including South Asians.

Key facts about the Chinese Head Tax:
Introduced in 1885 by the Canadian government after the completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway (built largely with Chinese labor).
It imposed a tax on every Chinese person entering Canada, starting at $50, later raised to $100 in 1900 and $500 in 1903.

北卡怎么这么红？原来还因为工作关系考虑搬来北卡夏洛特呢。看来不能来了？

.. 短期问题不大，可以找分租的房子。不过如果有蓝州offer还是选择蓝州
