很多人习惯把“政府”当作一个冷冰冰的权力结构，但我们很少认真追问一句话：如果政府不保障最基本的社会福利和公平分配，它的存在还有什么意义？

现代国家的政府，不只是为了维持秩序、修路收税、组织选举。它存在的核心理由，是为了保障每一个人的尊严。

当政府放弃再分配、放弃对弱势群体的保护，它就不再是“人民的政府”，而是服务少数特权阶层的工具。一旦政府只征税、只管秩序、不管福祉，那它的合法性也将逐步丧失。

真正的社会稳定，不是靠强力维稳和繁荣数字，而是靠普通人感受到：无论出身如何，都能活得体面、有尊严、有机会。

如果一个年轻人努力读书却交不起医疗账单；一个老年人辛苦一生却无养老保障；一个工人交了税却得不到最基本的看病和住房……那么这个国家的制度，再“民主”，也只是表面。

政府不能只是“富人的保镖”，而应是“全民的守门人”。否则，它与一种合法化的压迫机器，又有多少区别？

Many people view “government” as a cold bureaucracy or an abstract power structure. But here’s a deeper question we must ask:
If a government doesn’t guarantee basic welfare and fair distribution, what’s the point of its existence?

In modern societies, governments aren’t just there to maintain order or collect taxes. Their fundamental purpose is to protect human dignity.

When a government abandons redistribution and leaves the vulnerable behind, it stops being a government for the people, and becomes a tool for the privileged few. A system that only taxes and controls — but does not care — begins to lose its moral authority.

True stability comes not from force or GDP numbers, but from the feeling that ordinary people, regardless of their background, can live with dignity, security, and opportunity.

If a student studies hard but can’t afford healthcare,
If a senior works for decades but has no pension,
If a worker pays taxes but can’t get basic treatment or housing —
Then no matter how democratic the system looks, it has failed its people.

A government must not be the bodyguard of the rich — it must be the guardian of everyone.
Otherwise, how different is it from institutionalized oppression?
