Role Overview
• Position: Security Consultant
• Core Focus: Software security analysis with emphasis on third-party applications.
• Responsibilities:
◦ Conduct security reviews on third-party software requested by employees.


◦ Perform reverse engineering and network analysis (e.g., interception, decryption) to identify threats or vulnerabilities.
◦ Validate compliance with security guidelines (e.g., no unauthorized network connections, adherence to internal policies).
◦ Provide findings to engineering/support teams, suggest workarounds, and collaborate with end users.
Technical Expectations
• Primary Environment:
◦ Mainly Windows software, some Linux.
◦ Typically third-party vendor applications introduced by employees.
• Analysis Scope:
◦ Reverse engineering binaries (sandbox testing, tools inspection).
◦ Identifying unauthorized behaviors (e.g., hidden data exfiltration).
• Tools:
◦ Current team uses tools like Binary Ninja.
◦ Tool-agnostic; familiarity with reverse engineering tools is a plus.
• Experience Level:
◦ 3–5+ years of relevant experience.
◦ Mid-to-senior level expected.
◦ Capture-the-Flag (CTF) competition experience valued.
• Certifications:
◦ Not required or prioritized.
◦ Experience and demonstrable skills take precedence.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Strong background in reverse engineering and software analysis.
• Prior experience in network/system administration is highly valued.
• Broad technical understanding of vulnerabilities, systems, and process flows.
• Ability to balance security requirements with user needs (practical workarounds).
• Collaborative mindset – will work closely with:
◦ Jason (senior in-house expert, heavily overloaded).
◦ Windows Platform Engineering team (~5–6 members).
◦ Frontline Support staff.
◦ End users across the firm.
