The Nobel Academy had originally called a wrong number, attempting to tell  Perlmutter the news. Instead,  he’d found out by phone from a Swedish reporter calling around 2:45 a.m. for an interview.

Inevitably, a reporter wondered when Perlmutter would get his Nobelist’s parking permit, one of the international prize’s notable campus perks.  “I was assuming today,” Perlmutter replied, adding that “the only reason to win a Nobel Prize is so that you can park on campus.”

最搞笑的是那个permit每年都要renew

Physics professor George Smoot, who won the Nobel Prize in 2006, said there's a catch to the permit: It's free, but it's not automatically renewed each year. Some of Berkeley's Nobel laureates have let their permits lapse.

"It's a temporary permit," Smoot explained. "You've got to renew it every year — like your Nobel laureate's going to go away, or something! And so, twice now I've gotten tickets because I didn't, you know, remember to renew it on time."

权贵本位的话，这篇文章介绍的三个人确实很NB。是谁的孙女这件事情没得选吧。第一个人和第三个人，他们的“成功”有多少是家庭背景，有多少是个人奋斗？
羡慕他们的背景资源是无可厚非，只是不是我的佩服的那类人
不过这三个人的谦虚倒是不错
