10FALL的CS@USC上语言课最新政策，已核实

这是我发的email：
Nice to meet you! I am a new master student(2010 Fall) in CS and my condition of admission in the DHL package requires me to take ISE exam before registration, but I heard from some students in USC that a score of 90 with 20+ in each section in TOEFL ibt test can waive ISE exam, is that true? my TOEFL score is 95(26,24,23,22), this information is really important to me, because it will take me much time and money to take ALI courses. thank you very much!

这是CS系里advisor的回信：
Under the current policy, everyone who scores below 100 must take the ISE. However, the results of the exam are not binding. If you are placed in a language course, they will be waived. You wil not have to take language courses at USC.

然后我又问了一次：

Thank you for your information, sir. If this means I do not need to
take expensive ALI courses and I just need to take ISE exam then it is
really good news. Because I just got an unlucky score of
98(26,26,22,24) in TOEFL test, Feb. 21, and I really want to avoid the
possible fees of English courses.
One more question, ETS will send my score report of 98 to USC, and
what else do I need to do to waive ALI courses when I arrive USC?

advisor又回了我：
Right. You will not need to take any English courses.

We will not need anything else from you.

我又问了另一个advisor：
I am a new international graduate student of your master program in
computer science this fall semester, I have sent you an email about
ISE exam. And I just got a TOEFL score of 98(26,26,22,24) after that
email. I am a little confused about ISE and ALI requirements. Can I
waive ISE exam with this score? Or I must take ISE but CS department
can waive my ALI course? I am sorry to bother you but ALI courses are
really expensive, if there is possibility of taking ALI courses, I
will have to take TOEFL test again to avoid that. Thank you very much!

这个advisor回信内容：

You will still need to take the ALI exam. After if you are still required to take courses then we will be able to waive you from the requirements below.

结论：
CS department现在开始T90+，单项20+就可以waive ALI courses。并且免除ISE的条件仍然是100+单项20+呢。所以按我的情况，必须参加ISE，但是依然可以waive ALI course。

有时间就再考Toefl，没时间就去了再说，别太烦恼，无非多花点钱，能用钱解决的都不是大问题。

那为啥你录取信上是写100？

他的意思是，你这个分数蛮可以的，就算考完ISE没过，你也不用上英语课了
