Ph.D. position in soft matter modeling at SUNY Binghamton

The Soft Matter and Interfacial Phenomena Lab at SUNY Binghamton is seeking for a new Ph.D. student (starting Fall 2019) to conduct theoretical and computational research at the interface of soft matter physics, transport phenomena, and interfacial science. Current projects of the lab include (but not limited to): directed colloidal assembly at fluid interfaces, biophysics of bacterial membranes, multiphase flow, and polymer nanocomposites. Interested candidates should have a degree in mechanical engineering or related fields, and demonstrate a strong motivation to perform both analytical and computational developments. Coding experience in C/C++ or Python and knowledge of molecular dynamics or lattice Boltzmann method are preferred. The position provides an annual stipend and full tuition support.
