阅读本书，了解了一种编程策略。在编程之前，先根据设想的算法写下伪代码（比较简单，看着像程序但不能运行）。之后，再根据伪代码编写真正的程序。

algorithms, step-by-step instructions for solving a problem

Abstraction is a concept in computer science where some low-level implementation (such as how data is ultimately stored in binary) is simplified or taken for granted, so we can use that implementation at a higher level (such as representing letters, that we can then use in our programs).
We can think of videos as abstractions over images, images as abstractions over pixels, and pixels as abstractions over bits.

I don't quite understand the codes the professor cited in his slides.  Maybe I need to go for a more intro-level class.
