开贴回答有关土木工程申请（MS+PHD）的问题

被wisconsin madison的geo录取了，master，听闻这学校funding比较充足，不知道楼主有啥建议，同时被录的还有purdue~

to me there is no substantial difference between these two schools, both are good. not sure about funding, i guess you know better than me in that regard. geo seems easier to find a job in petroleum companies compared to structure.

楼主，求问啊。。。我拿到了弗吉尼亚大学的PhD的ad,关于奖学金是这么说的：Your application for departmental financial aid has been reviewed by the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. At this time we are unable to confirm a financial aid package but hope that funds may become available in the future. A decision on financial aid will be made at a later date. Please address any questions to the Civil Engineering Graduate Director.给系主任发邮件询问奖学金，他的回复是In terms of advisor, we didn’t assign one. We have some new faculty in your area. They wanted to have more time to decide on specific students, but are interested in you. Part of this is also due to the uncertainty of future funding and people are waiting to hear on pending funding grants. The good thing for you to do is to contact directly those professors with whom you are interested in working. You may be able to confirm an advisor this way and the individual faculty are in the best position to let you know if there are pending funding proposals about which they haven’t heard. But be patient – it’s a busy time of year.
你觉得还能在4.15之后陶瓷转为offer么？

我不太明白你要问什么 我觉得邮件里面写的很清楚了 有可能给钱但是他们现在不能给你任何承诺 所以你要自己承担万一没钱的风险~直接给教授写邮件吧

主要就是想问一下过了4.15之后再想套奖的难度是不是要大很多了？

这个415不是定死的，各个学校对它的处理方法不同~
既然系主任都说还是有希望的（而且没提415），那肯定句继续跟进咯 我感觉希望比较大

楼主你好，我现在在天津大学读硕士，方向是海洋工程Ocean Engineering，对TAMU很感兴趣。不知到申请到phd的概率如何，目前有一些论文发表或在审。希望能得到一些信息，任何信息都好，谢谢！

具体到某个学校的信息我确实不太多。。但是申请的话 任何学校GPA和推荐信都应该是王道 论文的话，如果不是英文的那管多少用很难说 另外陶瓷应该也有用

楼主，我本科在985学校读的交通，研究生在国内top5的大学读管理，虽然在经管学院，但是导师研究方向仍然是交通，由于交通在国内和国外就业都一般，我想申请出国换方向，但没有特别感兴趣的方向，楼主觉得研究博弈game theory怎么样？像我这样本科读交通，研究生读管理，申请美国的管理方向博士是不是很困难？先谢谢您啦
