Senior Software Development QA Engineer 1 - SD-WAN, uCPE, Firewall; Security Integrated Solutions

Job Duties:
• Work closely with developers to quickly improve the product quality, include functionality, usability, performance and stability
• Cooperate with developers or product managers to research on new requirement, user scenarios and to verify multiple Fortinet products and integrated solutions
• Design, execute and maintain test specifications and test cases
• Write and maintain automation scripts
• Work with support teams to troubleshoot and reproduce customer issues
• Initiate function user guide and some other technical support documents

Job Experience Required:
• At least 3 years QA experience on networking or network security fields
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in configuring/installing/troubleshooting devices such as router, switch, firewall, windows and Linux server.
• In-depth understanding of L2-L7 protocols such as switching (ARP/NDP, VLAN/Trunk, STP), routing (static, policy and dynamic), TCP/UDP, HTTP/HTTPS/DNS/FTP/IPsec, etc.
• Good understanding of SDN/SD-WAN and virtualiztion technologies such as ESXi/Hyper-V/KVM and Clouds platforms is a plus
• Demonstrated skills in automation scripting such as Python/Shell/JAVA, and experience in automation framework such as Robot or STAF is a plus
• Good experience on using Linux test tools and test equipment such as Avalanche, IXIA, BPS etc.

Fortinet is developing a powerful platform that combines the security for the datacenter and carrier solutions that enables organizations to efficiently manage, scale and secure their networks. This QA Engineer will be part of this exciting development and will be working with a strong technical team that has experience delivering the solutions to large carriers. Participate in building a network device platform for data centers/Carriers that provides high throughput packet processing to the service provider using latest networking technologies. Our ideal candidate is willing to learn new skillsets and take on challenges

Job Duties:
• Execute functional/performance testing on products using a combination of manual and auto-testing techniques.
• Follow internal development, test and build processes.
• Work closely with Developers, QA, and others to understand new features, use cases, and customer scenarios.
• Create, maintain, and execute test specifications and test cases.
• Identify, document, and track software defects found during testing.
• Write and maintain automation scripts.
• Passionate, motivated and always willing to learn and explore new technologies.
• Good team player.

Job Experience Required:
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in configuring/installing/troubleshooting devices such as router, switch, firewall, windows server, Linux server.
• Good understanding of Layer2-Layer7 network protocols. Such as switching (ARP/NDP, VLAN/Trunk, STP etc.), routing (static routing, OSPF, BGP, etc.), TCP/UDP(session/flow etc.), HTTP/HTTPS/DNS/FTP details.
• Knowledge of general QA procedures and methodologies, as well as software development fundamentals
• Good knowledge/experience in cybersecurity such as SSL/TLS/PKI certificate, IPS/AV/WAF etc. is a plus.
• Experience on troubleshooting/configuring virtualization platform (VMware ESXi/Hyper-V/KVM), cloud platform(AWS/Azure/GCP/OCP) is a plus.
• Demonstrated skills in programming languages, such as Python/Shell/JAVA is preferred
• Having any networking certification or equivalent ability like CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, etc. is a plus.
