Sr. Data Engineer

In this role you are able to discuss and design complex modeling solutions with the data scientists, and then deliver the business case to the teams and board with a clear, sharp and business-oriented presentation.

You will be:

a key team member in the development and design of new data​-driven applications;
the evangelist in our company for data-driven products being top of mind;
building intelligent and personalized data pipeline that awe our customers.
guiding and mentoring team members both professionally and technically
participating in and responsible for tactical planning and execution
You think with your colleagues about architecture decisions and help work them out. Be a technical sparring partner for the organization to help the business build efficient and effective requirements. You will empower your team to be better at their work. You will also work with international counterparts across the worldwide eBay Classifieds Group.

What we’re looking for:

The person we are looking for has extensive experience in on-line or related areas, with 6+ years of full-time employment. We expect the right person being a guide in software engineering and have good knowledge of what it means to work with large and/or distributed systems. We also believe that to be a well-rounded developer, one needs experience with more than just one programming language. Furthermore, we need someone who lives and breathes Agile development, can focus on delivering, and wants to take a leading role in improving how we work.

You have:

ETL pipeline
Extended toolkit in Data Fabric and algorithms, and Digital Analytics;
Hadoop, Spark, Apache Flink experience;
Kafka or other even streaming technologies;
Java and/or Scala development;
Unix / Linux;
Agile methodologies;
Affinity for e-Commerce;
Building outstanding products;
Preferred Qualifications:

Data engineering;
Processing big data, Hadoop, Spark;
Knowledge of alternative languages like Python.
You have a degree in Computer Sciences or comparable topic.
