U.S. health officials expect that by the end of the year or earlier, they will be able to know the late-stage test results of the three potential vaccines Moderna, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca, and know whether at least one of them will work. But officials and experts have warned that no matter which vaccine is finally approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), once it is approved for public release, it may be in short supply. In addition, states still face logistical challenges, such as establishing distribution points and enough needles, syringes, and bottles for vaccine injections.

On Tuesday, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine released a draft on vaccine distribution: when the vaccine will be approved for public use and how it will be distributed. The report is also required by the National Institutes of Health and the CDC.The team stated that the vaccine will be distributed in four stages: healthcare workers, the elderly and those with underlying health problems should be vaccinated first. This is followed by essential workers, teachers, homeless people or people in shelters, and people in prisons, followed by children and young adults.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that by the end of this year, as many as 25 million people should be immunized. But in the U.S. alone, there are 17 to 20 million medical staff, almost all the vaccine doses that the U.S. hopes to get by the end of this year. Therefore, even if the federal government requires states to prepare to distribute vaccines in November. Most people may not get the coronavirus vaccine until the middle of next year.  source
