Netherlands and Belgium ban ALL flights from the UK until January 1

The Netherlands and Belgium will ban flights carrying passengers from the United Kingdom from Sunday as Britain detected a new coronavirus strain.

A travel ban in The Netherlands will remain in place until January 1, the government said in a statement early Sunday, adding that it is monitoring developments and is considering additional measures regarding other modes of transport.

Neighbouring Belgium also said it was suspending flight and train arrivals from Britain from midnight.  

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo on Sunday said he was issuing the order for 24 hours starting at midnight "out of precaution."

'There are a great many questions about this new mutation and if it is not already on the mainland,' he said. He hoped to have more clarity as of Tuesday.

Germany is also considering banning flights from the UK and South Africa 'as a serious option' to prevent the spread of the new strain circulating in the two countries, a source close to the German health ministry said today.  

The Netherlands said that in early December, sampling of a case in the country had revealed the same virus strain as that found in the UK.

The health ministry said that a 'case study in the Netherlands at the beginning of December revealed a virus with the variant described in the United Kingdom.'

Experts were looking at how the infection happened and whether there were related cases.

In measures to control the spread of virus, the Dutch government issued a 'do not travel' advisory, unless it is absolutely essential.

The Netherlands is under a five-week lockdown until mid-January with schools and all non-essential shops closed to slow a surge in the virus.

The ban came after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and scientists announced on Saturday that the new strain of coronavirus identified in the country is up to 70% more infectious.

Johnson also said London and southeast England, which are currently in the highest level of a three-tier system of rules, would now be placed in a new Tier 4 level.

回顾1918年大流感，由于数据不完整，偏差大，但一般估计当时的 致死率大约是 2.5%-10%。

考虑到100年后的今天，医疗水平上升很多，那么，这次covid-19的毒性，不亚于1918流感。当时，是流行了快三年，才消减为致死率很低的big flu。

covid-19，虽然主要是 50岁以上年龄段死亡率太高，但全美国 如果群体免疫，得要死掉300多万人，是现在的10倍。同时，就算死掉300多万老年人，也削减不了，多少 养老退休保险支出，另外，少青壮年患者痊愈的后遗症还不是很明确。

瑞士关闭与英国、南非的空中交通

　　瑞士联邦民航局12月20日宣布，由于英国及南非出现的新冠疫情新情况，从当天午夜开始，瑞士暂停与这两个国家之间的空中交通，直至另行通知为止。这一紧急措施已通知到有关机场、航空公司等。

此前，英国和南非两国政府先后宣布发现了具有更大传染性的新冠病毒新毒株。

仔细看了看，从9月底以后至今。

欧洲几个发达国家公布的感染数和死亡数，一般死亡时在感染有症状后15天，那么covid-19的致死率是2%左右，甚至更高。即使德国瑞士这种ICU配置很高的国家，也是2%。欧洲基本是强制全民医保，就医愿望很高，统计数据的误差不会太大。

美国的公布数据来看，致死率是1.5%左右。考虑到美国不是全民医保，加上医药费很贵，患者的就医愿望较低，所以统计有误差较大。不过，美国的人均住宅面积，和人口密度，要好于欧洲。

所以，综合来看，9月底以后至今，欧美的致死率一直是1.5%-2.0%左右，没多大变化。

而年度流感的致死率是0.1%-0.2%左右，差了10多倍。

即使以后，covid-19成为big flu，毒性下降，可能也比过去的冬季流感，致死率，至少高5倍！


(5月中旬后、6、7，8，9，这四个多月，欧洲基本放松了管制，感染人数剧降，死亡人数也极少，很多国家的死亡数每天只是个位数；直到10月中旬，再次开始猛增)

刚看了看，加拿大 的 covid-19 致死率，和欧洲差不多，也是2.0%左右。

发达国家里，只有美国是另类的低，所以，可能是统计失真较大，真实数据应该还是2.0%左右。

英国变异，其它国家就不变异？时间问题吧
