我是在地里认识这个小师妹的。

今天是他们的头七。才一起工作两个月就远离了我们，所有人都无法接受这现实。望着她父母无助的双眼，我们一定会想尽一切办法为他们讨回公道。

希望地里的同志们不管是在异国他乡还是在父母身边，都要注意安全。警钟长鸣！

PINECREST (CBSMiami) – The family of a University of Miami student struck and killed in Pinecrest traveled halfway around the world to get answers and perform a ritual for their lost loved one.

Authorities say 27-year old Ying Chen and 26-year old Hao Liu were crossing the street on 88th and SW 68th Court around 8 p.m. on October 16 when they were both struck by a Porsche driven by 47-year old Milady Pequeno.
Police say she did stop several hundred yards away from where the collision took place.

Chen’s family flew here from Beijing, China to find out what happened and why.


They performed a Chinese ritual on Tuesday on the street corner to remember the young lives lost in what – so far – appears to be a tragic accident.

“We believe their soul will come back on the seventh day.  And this is why her mother is praying on the sidewalk,” said U.M. student Ping Zou.

Chen was getting her Ph.D. in electrical engineering while Liu was also getting his Ph.D.

Family and friends gathered to remember two students who’d come here from the other side of the world to complete their studies and make their families proud.

“She teach me how to play Chinese guitar…so sorry for her death,” said Verong Xia, the victim’s roommate.

The Chinese consul sent representatives to console the family and meet with fellow U.M. students who are concerned no charges have been filed in the case.

为什么no charges have been filed?

看了下，SW 68th Ct是有stop sign的，88th没有。也没有红绿灯。如果他们是在cross SW 68th Ct的时候被撞，那无疑是开车人的全责，因为stop sign没有停。但如果他们是在cross 88th的时候被撞，那就是行人的问题了。

警察说他们的crossing是没有问题的，只是当地司机比较野蛮，不让人超速是地方风气。他们刚来，不懂。
可惜的是他们再有一步路就踏上路肩了。司机没有刹车，只是承认掉头和副驾说话。开出了200多米才停下来。警察当时只录了肇事者和车上乘客的口供，而且判定没有超速，还说没有目击者。可昨天晚上有10人以上目击者自愿作证司机超速，和警察渎职，半小时后才来。

Miami的司机开车野蛮在美国是出名的了，基本上超个限速20mile是家常便饭。

我同学暑假去迈阿密自驾了，回来说快把她吓出心脏病了。
