My advice is it depends.
I tried to maintain my F1 status until the interview,
but it was so hard, as it was truly money-consuming and energy-draining with full-time study.
Luckily I got the work permit after receiving the 485 receipts, so I just terminated the F1, it depends on your own situation and you have to weigh the risks and benefits of leaving the F1 status, as it is permanent if you terminate it. I indeed was asked in detail for my F1 status maintenance by immigration and whether you are truly single or not.

he just asked me whether I went back to school and continued my study after my opt finished.
My current job is the same workplace as when I did my opt. so I think he thought I continued my work at my company even after my opt finished, I told him it was not the same case as he wondered. You have to be very careful if you are going to do some work, make sure it doesn't violate the rule for work with authorization if you are F2B, and you also have F1.

I think if you receive the work permit under F2B, and you are not concerned about traveling overseas during the 485 waiting period, you can consider leaving F1 status and working at a good job position.  If you decided to maintain your F1 until receiving your green card, then just not work at all, Because the immigration service very easy get confused with you studying and working at the same time, they can get mixed up and which will in turn to complicate your case.  So just keep it simple as much as you can.

对了，还有个问题想咨询您一下，我看之前你发的帖子说您母亲是有绿卡，请问下直到你面试后获批拿到绿卡，这期间您母亲都是只持有绿卡吗？还是有考公民呢？谢谢
