Thank you for your E-mail... looking through your application, your crash simulation experience is quite strong and very similar to our past work. We are pursuing projects at present to work in this area, but we have nothing definite as of yet. However, that situation often changes - and we generally have one or two funded projects in this area each year.


One of the constraints that we have presently is that we have funding restrictions on some of our projects that do not allow international students. However, we are working to get these restrictions lifted and they will probably not be in place by Fall of '14.


Perhaps we can talk soon and discuss your training and background, and this would better help me see if you can gain admission. Please note that our application process in our department is strange in that your application is NOT reviewed by your potential research adviser, but rather by a select group of faculty independent of your research area. Thus, you are accepted mainly on your academic performance rather than research contacts! Because my input has no sway on this decision, please be sure to indicate a range of faculty that you may be interested in working with, the range of skills you have and wish to develop, etc. If you have questions, please feel free to ask.


In terms of a discussion, the Thanksgiving week of November (Nov 25th - 29th) is a holiday, and because there is no school, I will have lots of availability then.

以上就是我的套磁回信内容，请问下组里的有经验的前辈们，我该如何回复比较妥当..本人2+2海本大四在读一枚，我个人比较期望能进行一个电话面试或者类似...但是又不希望面试来的太快，因为我目前的申请工作才刚开始不久，申请车辆方面博士，各方面知识也在脑补。欢迎前辈们指点，也欢迎志同道合的同学回复或者私信交流。

和他说的一样...他的项目一般都是几个PI一起rank the potential candidates. 反正聊聊无妨，你感恩节和他聊聊，不过你别吊死在这里就行了，虽然PSU的确不错

两次问他关于面试的问题..或者如何聊一下，他都故意不回答..估计面试悬了...你是PSU的么？怎么这么熟

你PSU是申的PHD?

不回答很正常，他也要根据自己的事情安排时间，可能他自己也没安排好自己的时间，crash项目的话，我不知道你是用什么做，他一般focus on dynamics and sensing

一个Multi-body DYnamics的软件Simpack...还有Carsim...恩，越说越专业了，你真是他学生？

不是，和他聊过而已..Simpack应用在railway领域比较多...
