Multiple Fully-funded CS Ph.D. positions are available in Dr. Sun's group at Drexel University in the area of Computer Security and Privacy with an emphasis on the human factors. Some of the research focuses on e-crime, threat intelligence, underground economies, Internet fraud, and web security. Drexel University is a quarter-based university, so the start date could be in January, April, May, or September 2023.


Required Qualifications:

• Passionate in Computer Security & Privacy, self-motivated
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python or R
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in computer science, statistics, or a closely related field
• Research experience in machine learning and data mining
• Research experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis

About Dr. Sun
Dr. Zhibo "Eric" Sun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Drexel’s College of Computing & Informatics. His research interests lie broadly in the area of computer security and privacy with an emphasis on human-centered analysis, aiming to identify human vulnerabilities and patch them to make people safer in cyberspace. Eric investigates real-world computer security problems and human vulnerabilities by using a mix of data-driven analytics, quantitative and qualitative analysis, machine learning, crime science, and system design. In particular, some of his research includes e-crime, threat intelligence, underground economies, Internet fraud, and web security.
