美国西佛罗里达大学(University of West Florida)Dr. Brian Jalaian 课题组现招收多名全奖博士生,2023 Fall入学。课题研究包括为机器学习/数据安全等方向。

About Application:
Successful applicants will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields, and strong motivation to do high-quality research in machine learning assurance, safety, and security. Additionally, strong quantitative skills and a programming background are important. Previous research experiences in related fields and scientific publications in journals/conferences are preferred.
About PI:
Dr. Brian Jalaian is an associate professor at the University of West Florida. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2016 at Virginia Tech. He is a subject matter expert on machine learning assurance, safety, and security. His research interests are the broad area of robust and resilient machine learning algorithms, including uncertainty quantification, adversarial machine learning, test, evaluation, verification, and validation (TEV&V) of machine learning algorithms.
Dr. Jalaian has experience in forming and leading cross-functional machine learning teams to pursue research and development on cutting-edge technologies. His research experience, skills, and technical leadership impact the basic research on developing unique capabilities for artificial intelligence in public sector. In particular, he formed and led a machine learning research team focusing on uncertainty quantification, safe, robust, and resilient artificial intelligence on a national collaborative research program, which has been very successful and contributed to several knowledge products and highlighted the importance of risk-aware artificial intelligence at public sector. |
