University of Southern California: Dr. Wen’s lab recruits postdoc fellows
Lab introduction:
Laboratory of AI and Biomedical Science (LABS) will be created in January 2023 at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC). The lab will be affiliated with the Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute (https://www.ini.usc.edu/), which has been performing frontier research in brain imaging and neuroscience for decades. Dr. Junhao Wen (https://www.junhaowen.com/) will start his independent research program as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at USC and look forward to working with the next generation of brilliant scientists.
Research directions:
LABS’ broad research interests are to develop and apply statistical and machine learning methodologies to “big data” in neuroimaging and genomics for aging and brain disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease. In particular, this job search emphasizes utilizing advanced AI techniques and multi-omics data, including brain MRI, genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics, to solve clinically relevant problems for precision medicine. All relevant directions can be pursued based on discussions, interests, and expertise.
Candidate skill set:
Ph.D. degree in any quantitative science, preferably in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Neuroscience, or Statistics;
Candidate should have a working knowledge of programming, including Linux, Python, and R;
Candidate having background knowledge in neuroimaging, machine learning, and/or genomics/genetics is encouraged;
Excellent communication and writing skills are required.
