有身份了以后做contractor感觉更舒心

Not LLC, s corp. you pay SE tax on LLC income if it’s not passive income. Apparently it’s non passive.

Contractor 的收入放入S corp好啊，乱七八糟东西一顿扔到公司做expense, 再把你新买的特斯拉放进去，兴许一年都交不了俩税。

我有个学姐是牛校教授，读书时候引用就好几千的那种
然后她老公（也是名校毕业的）就一直做contractor，能有空顾好家里的娃，赚的也不少，还很自由

contractor的benefits不好吧？

You form a single person LLC with your state then file SCorp selection with IRS so you can pass through your business income back to yourself for personal tax filing. You hire yourself and pay a reasonable salary. You can set up a company 401k plan with Vanguard so you will be able to contribute with employer match. Of course any salary is due for employment tax so it’s a balance of how much you want to reduce employment tax vs how much you want in retirement contributions. You can contribute much more with employer match. As business, you can expense many things, mileage, car, office, meals, entertainment, computer & software, phones, internet services, CPA, travel, conferences, trainings, you can have company to pay you medical insurance policies, and many other business expenses. You can hire your kids as employees and pay them with 401k matching contributions to leverage their lower tax rate.
