[招生] 美国佐治亚大学CS招收Fall 2023 or Spring/Fall 2024全奖PhD

学校和研究方向介绍:

佐治亚大学(University of Georgia, 缩写为UGA)计算机科学助理教授Dr. Wei Niu (2023秋季入职, 个人主页是http://niuwei.info)招全奖Ph.D. 学生. UGA坐落于美国佐治亚州雅典市, 离亚特兰大华人区在一个小时的车程左右, 生活方便. 同时, UGA是一所世界顶尖的著名公立研究型大学 (2023 US News 全美排名49), 也是R1 University, 被誉为公立常春藤大学. 最近几年, 学校也开始更加重视建设计算机科学部门, 最近也是把CS系上升到了School of Computing 的层级, 以及招聘更多的教职工, 目前CS本科生加研究生超过了1000名. 关于入学时间, 可以是2023年秋季, 2024年春季和秋季. 研究方向主要为以下几个方面:
1) Real-time Machine Learning - 机器学习和实时计算优化
2) AGI (artificial general inteligence) on Mobile Devices - 大模型在移动设备上面的优化
3) Parallel Computing and Compiler Optimizations for Machine Learning Systems - 针对ML应用的并行计算和编译器优化

同时如果学生有自己非常感兴趣的方向 (大的层面符合上面的几个topics), 我也乐意接受.

基本要求:
1) Highly motivated and enthusiasm for research
2) Students with working experience or experience in C/C++/Python programming are preferred.

Wei Niu earned his Ph.D. in the Computer Science department at [William & Mary](https://www.wm.edu/). He received his B.S. Degree in Software Engineering from Beihang University in 2016. He will be starting as an assistant professor in the School of Computing at University of Georgia. Mobile devices are one of the major carrier for many machine learning models, where he developed some real-time machine learning optimization frameworks on top of it. Students joining Dr. Wei's group are expected to work on the efficient machine learning algorithm and systems towards different architectures (i.e., mobile platforms, edge NPU/TPU/DSP, large-scale CPUs/GPUs).
