24Fall Utah ECE PhD offer

在地里看帖潜水两三年了，终于拿到phd offer可以汇报一下回馈社区。
. Waral dи,楼主本科西南某985物理专业，本科毕业后gap一年去了中东某土豪校读硕士，方向AI4medical。算是零基础转码。

另外介绍一下utah这边ECE的情况，官网上写了不要联系导师，但是第一年是不给做TA的，也就是说必须找到有人出钱才能录取，如果不陶瓷的话，感觉就是教授按照心情去池子里捞人。奖学金金额从32000-35000 for 12 months 应该都有。TA似乎还高一点27000 / 9 months。

This letter is to inform you that we have received your application, and it has made it through the preliminary admissions committee review.  Your application is still active, and we are still considering you for the PhD Program.

As part of the 2nd phase, your application information has been shared with our faculty, who will use it to review and select candidates to receive a Ph.D. offer. You may be invited to attend a one-on-one interview session via Zoom, in which case you will be contacted by the faculty member directly.  Many of our faculty have already started to make PhD offers to their top choices of candidates.  A majority of our faculty are still reviewing PhD applications and waiting for funding approvals before making offers.  We have not made a final decision yet regarding your application.

Once an admission decision is made you will receive an email notice, including a formal admission letter and specific details regarding our offer. If we have not yet received your official documents such as transcripts, exams, or letters of recommendation, please know that it can take 1 to 2 weeks from the time the University receives your documents to the time they are uploaded to our application system. We will continue to review your application while we wait to receive them, and it will not slow down our admission process.

Our faculty and admissions staff are receiving a high volume of email requests during this period, and we ask that you only reach out with critical concerns or developments. Please do not contact our admissions office to find out if you are accepted or provide application status updates. we need further information regarding your application, our staff will contact you directly. We do our best to notify students of our admission decision as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your patience during this time and look forward to reviewing your application more in-depth for consideration for our prestigious program.

官网写的是不要联系任何老师，但是实际情况是第一年不能做TA，一定要找一个导师funding。关于录取过程，根据我跟小蜜的沟通我猜测，是材料齐全以后，导师自己去池子里看材料选人。有没有预先筛选的阶段不好说

隔壁的

不是KAUST，也是隔壁hhh。另外整个中东都是emm，建议去看微调老师的文章。这地方适合大牛或者有背景的人狠狠赚钱。或者实在缺钱的人过来。
