PhD positions available in data mining/recommender systems

I am recruiting students who are interested in Data Mining, Machine Learning and Big Data analytics, and their applications in economy (e.g., recommender systems), life science (e.g., drug design, Bioinformatics), social science (e.g, social networks), complex systems (e.g., system tracking and anomaly detection, security), etc.

Ideal candidates should have a strong background in Math, Statistics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering or Automation. Extensive programming experience in either C, Matlab or Python is highly desired.

The CS doctoral program of IUPUI is managed by the Computer Science Department of Purdue University, which is among the top 20 CS programs in US. CS@IUPUI awards Purdue PhD degrees.
