Hongyuan Liu is recruiting a few fully funded Ph.D. students in the Department of Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology starting in Fall 2025. Our research primarily focuses on parallel and distributed computing and computer architecture. We design and develop efficient, scalable, and programmable software systems for data-intensive applications on GPUs and edge devices. Our current projects target application areas such as:

• Text and stream processing
• Point cloud analytics
• Graph analytics

About the Advisor
Hongyuan Liu will join Stevens Institute of Technology as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in Spring 2025. His research expertise lies in computer architecture and high-performance computing, with a particular focus on optimizing irregular applications for GPUs. His work aims to improve computational efficiency in applications with irregular control flows, memory access patterns, and parallelism. He earned his Ph.D. from the College of William & Mary. He interned at Intel in Fall 2019 and was a visiting student at Argonne National Laboratory in Spring 2021. Before pursuing his academic career, Hongyuan worked as a software engineer at Baidu. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Shandong University and a Master's degree from the University of Hong Kong. His work received a Best Paper Award at ASPLOS 2024.

Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following basic qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or expected) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Science, or related fields. Candidates with strong programming backgrounds in other STEM disciplines will also be considered.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming, with foundational knowledge of computer architecture and parallel programming.
• Strong motivation for learning and passion for research.

老师您好，我是Cornell ECE MEng在读，学过Computer Architecture，有过Tiny RISC-V CPU Design的经验，也做过ASIC/FPGA/Digital VLSI的Project，目前正在Cornell上Parallel Computing和Advance Computer Architecture，主要是学习CUDA和GPU Architecture，有GRE(325), 对您的方向都很感兴趣，已发邮件，结尾是xx86@cornell.edu，希望收到回复。
