Canada sucks
I used to be a proud Canadian. I remember travelling to other countries and coming back to Canada proud knowing that I lived in the best country in the world.
Now I come back feeling disappointed more than anything. These are some of the reasons:
It’s cold. We get essentially 4 months of livable weather and that’s it. June to September if you’re lucky. I still know of places where it can snow in June and others where winter starts in September. Outside of summer, it’s months of dark dreary cold days.-baidu 1point3acres
It’s expensive. Everything here is expensive. Whether it’s housing, travel, gas, food, cell phone bills; whatever it is, it’s expensive.
Salaries are too low for the cost of living here. To add to the expense is that our salaries don’t add up. Everything costs a fortune, but no one has the salary to pay for it.. 1point3acres.com
We pay an enormous amount of taxes, but there’s nothing to show for it. Our provincial health care systems are in shambles - people are dying in our emergency rooms or waiting months for tests, our road infrastructure is horrible and the quality of a third world dump, every single transit project is never done on time and is mostly always a useless project going nowhere to nowhere. The list goes on

Canada is a lie. Canadians like to sell the idea that Canada is a country everyone can take advantage of and build a life in. The give off the idea that Canada is more of a socialist country, but really it’s as bad as the United States with more taxes and a limited glass ceiling. We’re all in debt here going after degrees or starting business in which we’re all limited in our career or financial potential.
While I’m grateful that Canada is a country that protects human rights and the freedoms of its people, the country has gotten more and more difficult to live in. It feels like I’ve been duped living here. All my life I’ve been told how great this country is, but I find life here to be difficult and overwhelming the older I get. Canada just isn’t the great country it once was and while that’s a hard pill to swallow, it’s unfortunately the reality. |
