Dr. Peng Wei is an Assistant Professor in Iowa State University Aerospace Engineering Department. He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University School of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2013 with the Purdue College of Engineering Outstanding Research Award. He received M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University in 2009 and B.S. degree from Tsinghua University Department of Automation in 2007. He has working experience in NASA Ames Research Center and American Airlines.
His research focuses on optimization, control, machine learning and decision making in NextGen air transportation system, UAV integration into the National Airspace System, airline operations and aviation human factors. His research was featured in TIME Magazine cover story, CBSNews and Air Traffic Control Association Bulletin. He has been publishing extensively in top transportation, optimization, control and aerospace journals and conferences.
Dr. Wei has two Ph.D. positions available starting in Fall 2015, which will be supported by research assistant fellowship. Students with background in following areas are encouraged to apply:
