Laplace Laboratory (Applied Probabilistic Learning & Clinical Engineering) invites motivated students to join the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. We are seeking PhD students passionate about advancing the fields of applied artificial intelligence, statistical learning, and AI-driven healthcare solutions. The candidate will be advised by Zihao Wang, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at UT, visiting research fellow at the A. A. Martinos Center at Harvard University. Funding: Successful applicants will receive full funding through RA/TA positions, covering tuition, monthly stipend, and health insurance. Research Focus: Laplace Laboratory (https://laplace.center) works on interdisciplinary research projects, primarily focusing on medical image-guided diagnostics and clinical decision support systems. Collaborative Opportunities: Students will have the chance to engage in cutting- edge research and collaborate with leading institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Inria, and the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, expanding their professional networks and enhancing their research impact. Requirements: Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related fields. Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks. Background in data analysis, statistical learning. “正经人”这个条件可比研究内容本身重要多了。

学术圈混久了就知道遇到大坑比的概率远比想象的高，特别是在美国。我认识的前同事有被PI搞得影响到家庭的，有被黑文章的，总之林子大了什么鸟都有。这年头读博好比找对象，不仅仅是导师要面学生，学生也应该以“相亲”的角度看待导师。

愿每一个真心做博士的同学都能遇上良人。
