PhD.Offer [CS@UPitt] 如何回复这个存在误解的 CS@UPitts offer 呢？

事情有点小复杂，基本情况是这样的，我先接受了他家的 recommendation of admission，认为那不是正式接受offer。但他家之后的邮件表现的我已正式接受，现在I20也发过来了。我已经从了另外一个学校，打算拒掉他。估计之前存在点误解……

具体如下：
3月初收到CS系的邮件，说we are recommending to the Dean of Graduate Studies that you be accepted to our graduate program. You must confirm the acceptance of this recommendation of admission. This offer of admission is contingent upon approval by the Office of Graduate Studies and clearance with the Office of International Services.

我当时的理解是接受了CS系的recommendation才会被研院处理，这不是正式接受offer，所以就在邮件里的 I accept the terms of this recommendation of admission 选项前面打钩签字，把邮件传真回去了。

然后对方回邮件说 Welcome!! I'm very excited to hear that you intend to enroll at Pitt.
我赶忙问小米那是不是等于正式接受，回复说 You will finalize your decision by signing a formal offer and returning it to the Dean's office.  You will receive that letter in the mail hopefully soon.

后来一直没管了，期间收到另一个学校的offer并且已经从了。现在又收到了UPitt发来的I20。

这种情况下我算是已经正式从了他么？如果现在拒，算不算先从后拒、伤RP的行为哩？要据他该怎么说呢……纠结求助啊……

看在校友的份上能推荐我不？

你可以去跟学校解释，说是misunderstanding，不过我觉得无论如何解释，对方都会觉得是你毁约。

感觉lz回的邮件就像是接受的样子了 澄清一下吧

是啊，我觉得解释了他也不信……我也不想这样的，不是有意败RP啊……发信过去，看他什么反应吧
