The RoPAL (Robot Planning & Autonomy) lab at WSU is looking for one PhD student in 2026 Fall. Our research focuses on robot planning and autonomy, incorporating elements of learning, geometry, and AI tools.
The candidate must:
- be a CS major/undergrad (or equivalent strong C/C++ foundation)
- be passionate about robotics/AI/learning, solid math, Python/C++,
- have truly excellent communication skills (key for collaboration & presentation).
We also prefer candidates with prior involvement in robotics research, with publications in leading robotics conferences and/or journals.
TA support first 2 years, then RA till graduate.
