Amazon选组求建议

亚麻的hr刚发来的选组邮件，之前电话的时候明确说aws满了。现在给我的5个组感觉都不了解，求老司机帮忙给点意见。非常感谢！！3月份入职，求认识小伙伴们！！

Team 1: Alexa (Seattle and Sunnyvale)

Who We Are: We are a team of scientists and developers working on audio, speech and language solutions that will revolutionize how customers interact with Amazon’s products and services. What we do: Our mission is to push the envelope in automatic speech recognition (ASR), natural language understanding (NLU), and audio signal processing in order to provide the best possible experience for our customers. Products such as FireTV and Dash are illustrative of the user-delighting spoken language understanding solutions Amazon is building. What we're looking for: We are a rapidly growing team and are looking for passionate, entrepreneurial research scientists and engineers who have deep expertise in speech recognition, language understanding and audio processing. We also have openings for research managers who have a proven track record of managing and mentoring research scientists. Team 2: Kindle Demand Planning (Seattle)

This team supports the demand planning, in-stock, research and strategic planning teams for the entire Amazon device family of products and accessories. The team is central to the continued growth of the Devices division as we have grown from the first Kindle e-reader to a vast portfolio of Fire tablets, Fire TVs, Fire Phone and Echo – Amazon will continue expanding and innovating, introducing new products globally.

Team 3: Amazon Restaurants and Travel (Seattle)

Hungry? Ordering food just got easier with the introduction of Amazon Restaurants! One of Amazon’s latest innovations, Amazon Restaurants enables customers to order meals from top rated restaurants in their area. Following the product debut in our launch market, Amazon Restaurants will rapidly expand in regions across the US offering Amazon customers increased selection and convenience. The Amazon Restaurants business offers an entrepreneurial environment where innovating independently, launching quickly, and having fun are paramount. Come cook-up something great with us! What you will work on:

You will help define the architecture and build new large scale systems for consumers and restaurant merchants. You will partner with a talented team of engineers to build scalable, simple and relevant mobile technologies. This includes building backend services and native mobile apps for iOS, Android and FireOS devices. As part of this role, you will have the unique opportunity of having an end-to-end exposure to the business – you will interact with multiple business groups (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Product Management) and senior management. As an engineer, you will contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations.

Team 4: Consumer Website (Seattle)

Consumer Website owns the technology stack for Amazon.com websites worldwide from the front-end customer experience to back-end service technology and website hosting. This includes ownership of core website pages like gateway, nav, detail page, and checkout, along with localization, media services, website rendering, content management, content optimization, Weblab, Clickstream, Web Analytics, Robot Detection and Mitigation, traffic routing, DDoS protection, service frameworks, operations automation and more. Are you ready to build features that millions of customers can see every day? Can you design across disparate systems while obsessing over great customer experiences? Are you independent, passionate, and motivated? Join the center of Amazon’s customer obsession and build features customers love and talk about, create cool and unique experiences for Amazon customers, and touch every part of Amazon’s website. Engineers ready to take on this challenge have some unique skill sets: they are experts at multitasking, are exceptionally able to work with other disciplines (interaction design, PR, business teams, etc.), and are self-directed, passionate about customer experiences, and unafraid to run down issues across the company on their own. Strong individuals on this team will own individual Amazon experiences end-to-end. A broad base of engineering skills, plus the willingness to learn new ones, is critical. Technologies include: Java, C++, Perl, scalable architecture.

Team 5: Amazon Payment Products (Seattle)

As a member of the Amazon Payment Products team, you will invent new features, develop distributed services, and build a massively scalable, rock-solid platform solution using object-oriented Java on various UNIX-flavored platforms. We are a fast-paced environment, using agile methodology and lightweight SOA design patterns. We encourage innovation and expect developers to take a high level of ownership throughout the software life cycle.

个人还是想做cloud，web based之类的，比较偏后端，用java，多学技术为主，oncall不太重就好。非常感谢各位！

问了下亚麻同学说payment组都很坑，然后又找hr要了个e-commerce的组。

eCFT team
eCFT is responsible for protecting customer and corporate data across all of Amazon, whether it's the retail website, Kindle or AWS, we secure the data. Every aspect of our business interacts with our systems, if our systems are not up and running the company stops, and if we're not rapidly delivering new, easy to use features the whole company slows down. We're at the intersection of can never go down, and need to move at agile, internet speed. We're connected to all aspects of Amazon’s business.

We are looking for software engineers who thrive on complex problems and relish the challenge of operating a complex and mission critical system under extreme loads. Our system responds to millions of service requests per minute. We do security software for high availability systems. Do you think you are up to the challenge? Or would you like to learn more and stretch your skills and career?

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast paced environment. 另外一个理由是这个org下面换组容易，因为你现在去哪个大组都没法确定去的具体是哪个小组，所以去alexa的话之后换别的组也会更容易一点~alexa还是挺大一个org，下面做各方面的都有~

还有一个，别的组都感觉没这个好。。你要是有个aws的核心好组也就没啥好比的了。。

的确感觉这个team做的东西很有意思，而且echo用的技术也有很多来自这个组。当时master的时候选了个VR，感觉很炫后来找工作的时候发现其实很偏，所以一开始很担心做语音处理以后的路会比较窄。感谢层主的信息！

不会啊，你还是sde啊，而且做得东西更新更有意思啊

Alexa还有坑哇. 太好了我也去问问. 就是HR不回信比较麻烦.

是的, 比较感兴趣, 而且自己做过不少DSP, machine learning pattern recognition这些玩意.

坑越来越少了，压力好大呀
