NCSU PhD降MS

本来申的PhD的，被降成了MS(PhD track)，感觉今年新开了这个项目后PhD的申请难度变大了。大家可以去官网看这个MS的项目介绍，他们系里还特意给发了一个关于这个项目的FAQ，下面附上共后人参考：Here are some answers to common questions regarding the Master's degree (MR) program to which you were offered admission.
1) This is the 1st year that we have offered this program. We anticipate admitting approximately 15-20 students into this program each year.
2) We anticipate a total of about 7-10 of these students may be admitted into the PhD program (some after 1 year, others after 2 years).
3) Students in this MR program will take the same courses as the students in our PhD program, and hence we can directly assess their potential for doctoral-level success.
4) Students may apply to the PhD program from the MR program through the formal application process, it is not an internal transfer. We anticipate a few may be admitted after 1 year, while a few more admitted after 2 years (a total of about 7-10).
5) For those that are not admitted to our PhD program, receiving this rigorous Master's degree will make the student more competitive for either jobs, or entry into PhD programs at other universities.
6) During the course of the MR degree, the student is responsible for paying the tuition and fees. No financial assistance is available.
7) If admitted to the PhD program, the student will then be funded on a teaching or research assistantship, which includes full tuition coverage. This funding will only begin after the student is admitted into the PhD program.
8) Students will not take the PhD qualifying exam until formally admitted into the PhD program.
9) You were offered admission to this program because you were not competitive in our PhD applicant pool. No other offer will be made.

我感觉也是，这个和phd上一样的课，如果转为phd之后再读5年，那前1年／2年上的课不和原来一样吗

有道理，可能是这样的，就是前一两年没钱而已，拿到别的offer了，楼主应该要弃掉这个了……

楼主，这个项目如果第二年再申请博士的话，一共要读7年还是5年呀？

感觉上是1+5或者2+5吧

NCSU可以PHD自动降成MS么？
