Job ID 54811BR Position Title Research Biometrician (Statistician/Biostatistician) Division Pharma Business Unit Pharma - Global Development Country China Work Location Shanghai Company/Legal Entity China Beijing Novartis Pharma Ltd., Beijing Functional Area Development & Medical Job Type Full Time Employment Type Permanent Job Description Job Purpose: The Biometrician supports the delivery of statistical analytic solutions for Phase I-IV clinical trials at an individual trial level by helping in executing detailed analysis plans, ensuring the production of statistical reporting deliverables (tables, listings and graphs), supporting decision making by clinical teams and working together with the statistical scientist and the programmer. This position is based in Shanghai, China. Shanghai-based associates may support Chinese or China-centric clinical studies as well as trials conducted in other regions. Major Activities: 1. Contribute to the transcription of detailed analysis plans into computational solutions for the statistical programmer to implement (specifications of derived variables, specification and development of statistical computing solutions for inferential statistical analyses, tables and listings templates, and modern statistical graphics for the first interpretable results and Clinical study report) of Phase I-IV clinical trials. 2. Contribute to analysis plan execution including the planning meetings with the necessary study team members, reporting activities, exploratory analyses/ graphics and additional analyses to support publications for individual clinical trials. 3. Ensure that documents, specifications, programs/macros are consistent and comply with Clinical Science Unit/project/company standards/processes and provide operational input into data validation plans, specifications of analysis datasets, listings, tables and figures, clinical study reports for Phase I-IV clinical trials. 4. Ensure high quality for all assigned deliverables and processes and ensure auditreadiness. 5. Ensure to deliver agreed timelines for statistical deliverables. 6. Support statistical research by providing computational solutions to the problem. 7. Support statistical analysis solutions when exploratory analyses are required. Minimum requirements Education (minimum/desirable): MS (in Statistics or equivalent). Languages: Fluent English (oral and written). Mandarin knowledge is desirable. Experience/Professional requirement: 1. Working knowledge of / experience with SAS/ R/ Splus or any other business or research analytic software; 2. Statistical knowledge in analytic aspects; 3. Basic knowledge of data architecture; 4. Basic interpersonal and communication skills.
