The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISYE) at Northern Illinois University welcomes students from engineering, mathematics and management disciplines to apply for its master programs. Successful applicants with excellent qualifications will be offered scholarship (tuition waiver, research/teaching assistantship). Students also have opportunities to work with ISYE faculty on research projects, industry internships and in other forms of assistantships. Northern Illinois University is close to Chicago area (one hour to the Chicago city) which provides a great number of job opportunities. The ISYE department offers courses that cover all major areas of industrial engineering: operations research, manufacturing, ergonomics, production and supply chains. The department also maintains continuous collaboration with local industry to provide students with internship opportunities. International students constitute a good portion of the student body.
