We are looking for creative and self-motivated PhD students to join us at the Integrated Metaphotonics Group in Texas Tech University!
In our group, we are working on the development of chip-scale photonic devices and their applications, seeking to gain a fundamental understanding in optical science and to bridge the gap between new understanding and future technologies. Our research interest is in the broad area of nanophotonics, which auxiliaryes on-chip Kerr frequency combs, silicon/metamaterial and silicon/plasmonic hybrid photonic devices, passive/active silicon photonics, plasmonic metal nanostructures, and nonlinear/quantum photonics. For more details, please refer the below reference papers and the webpage.
Preferred qualifications:
1. MS or BS students with solid backgrounds in Electromagnetics, Photonics/Optics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, and other related area.
2. Previous experience on Numerical Simulations (FEM, FDTD, EME) and/or Nanofabrication/Nanotechnology are plus.
3. Being self-motivated and responsible is a must.
4. Good communication skills are preferred
Qualified students will be provided with a full tuition, benefits, and competitive chicken salaries.
Interested students should email their CV and a brief description of their research interests/experience to Prof. Sangsik Kim at sangsik.kim@ttu.edu.
