CMU作为计算机最强校可想而知其项目是非常多的，举个栗子就是CMU的软件工程是一个单独的学院，是的，不要怀疑。以下是已被录取的同学申请时总结的精华申请信息，如果能帮学弟学妹从众多的CMU项目找到合适自己的，便以了却心愿。

MS Programs under school of CS(lots of department, following programs belongs to different departments)

Academic programs:

1. Masters in Computer Science (New as of Fall 2012)
construct their own course of study, Most students will complete the program in three semesters. The program consists entirely of coursework; there is generally no research component.
总共12门课，基本上都是dev oriented，而且很多是算法，体系结构，系统等，而且很难有。

2. Masters in Language Technologies
two years, many language processing courses, summers are required to be spent in research lab. MLT是一个研究型学位。很多学生在这一领域的重要的国际会议上都发表论文，毕业生大多直接就读本校博士或者其他名牌大学。MLT也适合想直接就业的学生，大多从事工业领域中语音处理、信息检索、语言处理、机器编译和计算生物学及政府机关。

3. Masters in Robotics
Masters students can typically complete the program in twelve months of full-time, self-funded study or, if financial assistance is available, two years of study while working as a research assistant.

0. Master of Science in Information Technology in Robotics Technology (MSIT/RT)

1. Masters in Software Engineering

MSE: 16-month/4 semester full-time study on campus. MSE Admission Requirements including application material(special: one-page description of significant project experience. emphasize about software development experience.)
The typical applicant has two to five years of industry experience, and has worked on numerous small and large-scope software projects.
Two years experience working in a significant software development project (if you do not have at least two years experience, you may qualify for the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT-SE) degree.

2. Master of Science in Information Technology – Software Engineering
MSIT-SE. 12-month program. 学费就接近6w, no financial aids
The degree is designed for early-career professionals with less than two years of work experience. The program shares the same core courses as the MSE program, and results in a final real-world capstone project. Considerably smaller than the MSE Studio in scope and size, the MSIT-SE Practicum affords the student an opportunity to demonstrate what has been learned in the core and elective courses through its practical application in a realistic project setting.
The typical applicant has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or other scientific or technical discipline, one to two years of industry experience, and has worked on at least one notable project.
About financial aids:
As with many graduate programs, the graduate software engineering program does not have a structured financial aid program. Following the completion of the first fall semester, it is possible for exemplary students to obtain positions as Teaching Assistants (TA) in the Computer Science Department (CSD) of the School of Computer Science (SCS). International students must take and successfully pass an international teaching assistants test (ITA) given each April for opportunities the following fall semester. Given the intense nature of the MSE/MSIT-SE 12 and 16-month programs, however, most students typically do not have the additional time to devote to preparation for the test or to teaching assistantship responsibilities.
Each full-time MSE student working on a Studio project is allotted a working space in the MSE student area.

3. Masters of Information Technology in Ebusiness Technology
MSIT-eBusiness: program overview
No separate courses but: In this story-centered curriculum, you and your fellow students play the role of a newly formed eBusiness technology task force at ebConsultants LLP a fictional company with real-world problems. Your mission is to help ebConsultants LLP leverage technology and will focus on projects in four key areas Health Care, Banking, Retail and Logistics.
GRE optional. three semesters, Total Estimated Cost of Attendance $69,720.
Funding through grants or fellowships is currently not available through this program. Below you will find some alternative sources for scholarships and grants.

What is the difference between the MSE and MSIT-SE degree programs?The most significant difference between the two programs lies in the size and scope of their application-based projects,  the Studio and the Practicum.

The Software Development Studio is an intense, 12-month project that spans the entire MSE program, commencing the day that students enter the program and concluding with graduation. It accounts for 40% of the total student academic load, serving as a laboratory where you can apply the knowledge gained from core and elective courses in realistic, yet mentored, environments.

The MSIT-SE Practicum, completed either on or off campus, serves to demonstrate the your understanding of the material learned in the core and elective courses.  Its primary focus is to analyze in depth a major aspect of the software development life cycle by solving a substantial practical problem in a realistic setting.
