签转租合同还要公证是什么鬼

按照本人所住小区的要求，我需要和我的转租客在物业那里签一个我们两方的转租合同。楼主因为已经回国并且近几个月内不会再去之前住的那个小镇，就跟物业说" since I'm not in xx, I guess I can only sign the sublease in electronic format". 因为以前在国内签这个小区的时候就是打印合同签字扫描再传回去的，觉得不会有什么问题（不过当时物业是另一拨管理人员）

然而物业回给我了以下内容:“Since you are not here in xx, you will need to have the sublease noterized or have it attested by an attorney”以及"You must print the document and take the document to a notary and sign the document in front of a notary or Attorney in the area in which you are currently living. This documentation must be submitted to me along with your portion of the signed sublease" 然后她还问我要现在的地址，像是要寄文件给我。

貌似这是要我找个地方公证？有同学遇到过这种情况吗？租个房子这么啰嗦？
