RA positions are available at UT Dallas

Dr. Yang Hu is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), TX, United States. His research is focused on data center-scale computer architecture, architectural and system support for emerging SDN/NFV applications, edge computing, and architectural support for centralized/edge deep learning applications. He has published over ten papers at top-tier conferences including ISCA, MICRO, HPCA, ASPLOS, PACT, DSN, ICS, etc. His research has been recognized with best paper awards at IEEE CAL 2015 and best paper nominee at HPCA 2017 and HPCA 2018.

His group is actively looking for PhD students. RAship will be guaranteed. Priority will be given to students interested in the following areas:
1. Emerging network system design such as SDN/NFV, edge-based network function, high-performance network system (DPDK), infiniband and RDMA, etc.

2. Architectural support for modern machine learning-based applications (CNN, DNN, RNN, LSTM). Research experiences of hardware (e.g., FPGA) implementation of machine learning algorithms and architecture are preferred.

Science and engineering students with good academic record, strong research motivation and solid system implementation skills are encouraged to apply. Previous research experience in relevant fields will be preferred, but generally is not required. Additional openings may be available for excellent applicants with external fellowships or other funding support.

Dr. Hu毕业于佛罗里达大学，师从李涛教授。博士期间在计算机体系结构的四大顶级会议（ISCA, ASPLOS, MICRO和HPCA）均发表过一作文章，其中HPCA2018还获得了best paper nomination.
