Dear Applicant, On behalf of the Faculty of Computing and Information Science, I regret to inform you that your application for admission to the Master of Engineering Program in Computer Science has not been approved. Since the number of students who can be accepted is limited and the overall quality of applicants is quite high, it is not possible to accept many students who are interested in coming to Cornell. We receive, on average, one-thousand applications each year and it is not our practice to comment on why each applicant was not offered admission, so please refrain from contacting us for this information. The admissions committee reviews each application with great care and bases admission decisions on the applicant's preparedness for the program and relative ranking within the applicant pool.
