As a graduate applicant who has been admitted to NC State University, you may wonder if there is a deadline for accepting admission. So it is important to know that the Computer Science graduate program requires those admitted to its degrees to indicate their intention to enroll
no later than June 15
This is accomplished by accepting admission and paying a deposit of $300, which is credited toward the first semester's tuition. The deposit is non-refundable, but may be deferred if you defer enrollment to a later term.

Because our program does not limit admission to a fixed number of "seats" that admittees must claim quickly or lose, the deadline allows ample time to thoughtfully consider accepting admission or subsequent deferral. This is important, because our most recent statistics show that one of every 25 CSC admittees who accept admission and pay the deposit never enroll or defer their enrollment. And an additional three of every four who accept, pay the deposit, and do defer enrollment never actually matriculate at NC State.

You will indicate your intent to enroll with two actions:

1) completing the enrollment form linked from your official admission letter from the Graduate School, and
2) paying the enrollment deposit by June 15.

Regarding deferral, note that enrollment may be deferred no more than one year beyond your original entry semester, and that requests are subject to the program director's approval. However, we will not evaluate a deferral request unless a deposit has been processed by the aforementioned deadline. To request enrollment deferral, send an email, no later than August 1, to the Computer Science graduate program at csc_gradadmissions@ncsu.edu, stating your full name, applicant ID# (ID号码), the semester (Spring/Fall) to which you would like to defer enrollment, and a brief explanation of the reason for deferring.
