Maryland EE小米回复，有关SOP要求，最后亮了

The Statement of Purpose should address what your research interests
are, why you want to go to graduate school, why you feel that the
University of Maryland and the ECE program are right for you, and why
you are right for the program. It is basically asking "why are you
applying?" There is technically no space or word limit, though I would
recommend being as concise as possible. Keep in mind that the
admissions committee has to read through thousands of these so getting
to the point and not mincing words is recommended. I would try to keep
it under 2500 words if possible.

讲了半天要concise，要simple，结果最后说请控制在2500字以内。。摔。
不过我就无视他好了。还是800到1000字的标配吧。

顺便问，申这个学校EE MS的筒子们多吗？

请控制在2500字以内。。我见过控制在2500字母以内的，都不知道怎么办。。。

这么看来PS宜长不宜短？

我觉得不是。太长了人家看都懒得看。就是不知道他那2500是哪儿来的

我倒觉得如果申请唯一提交一项材料的话，应该就是PS。。。PS很重要的。。。

重要不代表越长越好。我觉得在说清楚内容的情况下越短越好就行了。比如如果我可以这么写，我就写，GPA 3.9，G 1500+4.5，SCI一作三篇，对你研究感兴趣。你看着办。。。。

我倒觉得真这么写会显得你太狂傲或者不像人类像机器。。。

同意在说清楚内容的情况下越短越好，但我个人感觉真要说清楚，短不了。。

当然我也觉得800到1000是合适的
