There are 1~2 RA openings (starting Fall'13) in Professor Tong Zhang's
research group ( http://www.ecse.rpi.edu/homepages/tzhang/ ) of ECE at
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), USA. With the current focus on
circuits and systems for data storage, his research is deeply
interdisciplinary and well aligned with the industry trend. Over the
past 10 years, his research group graduated 13 PhDs, all of whom are
working in leading-edge high-tech companies in US and some alumni are
already in various technical management positions. Expectations to
potential candidates are: Be serious and well motivated to pursue PhD;
decent GPA; familiar with C/C++ programming; and the following
experience are desirable but not required: data storage (either
hardware or software/OS), multimedia coding and processing,
Verilog/VHDL and VLSI synthesis.
Please notice that RPI graduate school here is strict on GRE grade,
and please check with RPI graduate for current requirement (last year
requirement is GRE verbal--minimum 156, GRE quant--minimum 146, GRE
analytical--minimum 4/6) though it is possible to get one waiver.
