The goal of Alibaba Quantum Laboratory (AQL) is to realize the revolutionary potentials of quantum computing. We are committed to this long-term mission and aspire to build a world-leading program in the next few years. Our interdisciplinary and international team is based in Hangzhou (Hardware and Systems), Beijing (Applications), and Bellevue, USA (Algorithms). English is the sole working language of AQL.

Position Description：

As a Quantum Scientist with a focus on algorithms, you will add to the current strength of AQL on quantum algorithms, work with an interdisciplinary and international team to research and implement super-fast quantum and quantum-classical hybrid algorithms for solving fundamental and real-world problems.

职位要求：

1.Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or closely related field.

2.Demonstrated outstanding research capabilities in his/her area of expertise and experience developing quantum algorithms and implementing algorithms on quantum computing architectures.

3.Evidence of a strong quantum computing programming background using high-level languages such as Python, C++.

4.Experience in gate-based and/or adiabatic quantum computation is required and experience in quantum simulation, machine learning methods, high performance computing or circuit synthesis will be taken into consideration.

1. Responsible for algorithm R&D of Alibaba Search Technology Team in Seattle & Hangzhou Office: develop new algorithms for improving search/recommendation revenue, and quality of the whole e-commerce ecosystem;

2. Responsible for analyzing and predicting buyers & sellers behaviors in Taobao & Tmall to explore key factors underlying the ecosystem: upgrade our personalized search/recommention retrieval & ranking algorithms in order to accerate the joint Personalized Search/Recommendation Algorithm&Supply Chain Optimization&Control Theory&Merchant Date Analysis Platformgrowth of the buyers, sellers and Alibaba platform; apply deep learning, reinforement learning, user & merchandise embedding, multi-task learning and transfer learning technology to various search & recommendation problems; build a unfied large-scale recommendation engine for our marketing activities.

3. Responsible for developing supply-chain related algorithms to help sellers reduce cost: design algorithms for sales prediction, logistics prediction, and inventory control; design algorithms based on control theory and operations research to effectively allocate search traffic for various business purposes.

4. Responsible for building an intelligent business analysis & decision platform: design and implement the large-scale data statistics, analysis, prediction algorithms to help merchants make wiser business decisions, and to make the operating of the ecosystem more intelligent.

职位描述
1. Master or PhD degree in computer science, signal processing, control theory, game theory, operations research, statistics, or equivalent fields;

2. Solid theoretical foundations and industry experiences in machine learning, personalized search & recommendation, user/seller behavior modeling, sales prediction, supply chain optimization, marketing algorithm, large scale data analysis/platforms. Expertise in deep learning, reinforcement learning, explore & exploit algorithms, control theory is preferred;

3. Solid programming skills in C++, Java & Python; Experience in distributed computing environments such as BSP、MPI、Parameter Serve, Tensorflow, Caffe is preferred.
