Ph.D. positions areavailable at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN, USA) in the Departmentof Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering (https://mabe.utk.edu/) in the area of control, optimization, and machine learningwith emphasis on autonomous vehicle systems. In addition to a waiver of tuitionand fees, the Graduate Assistantship positions also provide your healthinsurance and monthly stipend in the amount of more than $2,000. Selected candidates could start as soon as Fall 2019.

The ideal candidate shouldhave an undergraduate or graduate degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial,or a closely related field of engineering and science. The candidate should beself-motivated and committed to getting a Ph.D. degree, and is expected to havea strong interest in guidance,navigation and control of various types of vehicle systems. Candidates withexperience in optimal control, convex optimization, machine learning, mathematicalprogramming, modeling and simulation, and numerical methods are highly desired.
