Ph.D Assistantship in Controls @ TAMU

Ph.D Research Assistantship is available at Professor Xingyong Song’s research group (Group website: songxy.tamu.edu). Candidates are expected to have strong background in automatic controls: advanced controls theory, controls & automation applications, nonlinear optimization, and etc. The applicant should apply to Fall 2019 intake at Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station. The selected candidates will work with Dr. Xingyong Song in the research areas on control and automation on applications to energy systems, such as autonomous down-hole drilling robot for oil and gas industry, autonomous and connected vehicles, etc. Dr. Song is a tenure-track assistant professor at TAMU. He got his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and then gained over 4 years full-time industrial experience in two Fortune 500 companies ( 2 years at General Motors Research Center in Michigan and 2 years at Halliburton Energy (Oil&Gas) Service Company in Houston, Texas. ) His research works have strong emphasis on addressing the real world challenges and applications.
