乔治梅森大学（CS@GMU）PhD招生 (云计算，无服务器计算，容器，分布式存储)

George Mason University, Yue Cheng，计划招收2019年秋季入学全奖博士生，本科和硕士以及访学博士生都欢迎联系，背景不限（操作系统背景扎实，系统软件开发及开源软件经验（C/C++ Java Go Rust）丰富是加分项）。主要研究领域包括cloud computing, serverless computing, containers。目前的研究重点在re-architecting serverless infrastructure for data-intensive computing。如感兴趣请把简历(包括毕业学校、科研经历，相关成绩等信息)发往yuecheng@gmu.edu 。

我们的研究是应用以及需求驱动的，同时致力于解决因为大规模数据中心部署而引发的分布式系统以及计算上的性能和效率问题。因此我们一直与业界保持紧密合作，诸如IBM Research，JD，Dell EMC等等。学生将有机会在业界research lab做reseaerch internship。

关于CS@Mason:
Mason是一所新兴的R1研究型公立大学，近年来发展势头强劲。距离DC仅15英里（半小时车程），具有独佳的地理优势。计算机系USNews计算机系研究生院排名全美68，计算机系统(computer systems)方向csrankings.org排名48。同时，Amazon第二总部(HQ2)选址定于Alington, Northern Virginia，对学校将来的发展会起到极大的促进作用。


Research/Teaching Assistant openings (Fall'19 onwards)
Department of Computer Science at George Mason University

The students will work with Dr. Yue Cheng on cutting-edge systems research spanning the following areas: distributed and storage system, data management system, cloud computing, and I/O systems in high performance computing. The applicants are expected to be self-motivated with some background in computer systems and algorithms. Hands-on programming and system hacking experience (C/C++, scripting, Go, Rust, Java) is a BIG plus.

Dr. Cheng's research covers a range of topics including cloud computing, serverless computing, distributed systems, storage and I/O systems, high performance computing, and systems support for large-scale machine learning applications.
